Those of you who know me pretty well, know that I HATE HATE HATE LOATHE LOATHE LOATHE WINTER...so we've been just hibernating through the last couple weeks of winter. I am so ready for it to be over! Every year on Feb 2nd I eagerly anticipate the Groundhog NOT seeing his shadow and being given the horrible curse of 6 more weeks of winter. Damn groundhog, he ALWAYS sees his shadow. Time to retire that stupid tradition. I think I'll start a letter writing campaign to PETA to protest how stressful this must be on him! :) Think it will work????
Okay...back to regular programming
Some really, really great things have happened in the last couple weeks in our house!
First off, on Thursday, Feb 11 the girls had their Developmental Testing at Children's Hospital here in STL..and we are very very happy to say that it will officially be our LAST NICU follow up for the girls. It was great to see Dr. Cole and have him talk about the girls and acknowledge how great they are doing, it was even better to hear him say and so we are officially discharging the girls. Call us if you need us, but we won't be calling you. I don't remember all of the details of our appointment, mainly because they have to write us a big long letter summarizing everything. But, moral of the story...MOSTLY ADVANCED! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! So amazing. I cannot even tell you how happy I was to hear that! I cried all the way home. Matt doesn't know that, but I guess he does now. So happy to have closed that chapter of our lives. Dr. Cole asked us if we were going to have more children and said he'd like to encourage us to b/c we make healthy babies, and offered some additional advice. We told him the jury was still out, for at least a couple more years. What I wanted to say was...Can you GUARANTEE me that I won't have to bring another baby here? If so, I'm all for it. But as we've all learned, there are no guarantees in life. So, we'll continue to say the jury is out. For now we have two very happy and healthy babies. :)
Last weekend was President's Day weekend....here are some pictures of the girls playing around on MOnday with me while I was home. I love that day off...it's one of my favorites! :)
Olivia...in her new hat and puppy wubby!
The girls really like trying on shoes these days...Daddy left out his slippers that morning, so they entertained theirselves for quite some time with them!
Here Livvy...you need your wubby since I have mine, and you should put your hat back on too! :)
Sydney Hamming it up for the camera!
For Valentine's Day, the girls had 'special shirts'. I made a special dinner and chocolate cake for all. Dr. Cole encouraged us to feed the girls ANYTHING, even if it's "chocolate cake" because they are still so tiny. They STILL don't weight over 20 pounds and it makes me crazy because they eat all the time. Craziness. This would be why they are STILL on a morning and night bottle because I can guarantee those calories. :(
Here's Miss Sydney....hanging on her Elmo couch (thanks Uncle Todd)!
Sometimes the girls SHARE the couch....today they were watching Yo Gabba Gabba together and eating their crackers!
Miss O...up early from Naptime and playing around!
Waiting for Daddy to come home from traveling last week....Olivia was 'talking' to Daddy on speaker phone...more like looking confused because she couldn't see him and she missed him!
Miss Sydney....
Last week, I was lucky enough to get another Snow Day on Tuesday.....so, here are some pics of our day together! LOVING Sugar's Dog bed!

Sydney and Olivia with their cousin Colby...they thought both HE and his big Brother Nathan were pretty cool! Little flirts!
Quite sadly, the girls met their cousin Colby at their cousin Robin's funeral. Sadly, Robin only got to meet the girls once last Fall at a family reunion. She was so excited for us when we found out we were pregnant and sadly she started to get really sick around the time of my baby shower, and so I hadn't seen her in awhile. Such a kind, sweet, caring woman, she is greatly missed by all.
Not to be left out, it's important to note that the girls were also in love with Colby's big brother Nathan!

The girls fell asleep at dinner one night while eating, so so weird, especially since Mrs. Georgine told us they'd taken good naps, but that they'd played hard all day long! So cute!
Sydney...loves to play dress up...hats are a particular favorite of hers these days, as are SHOES!
